Pencil Drawings

Above is a pressed charcoal drawing of a Mexican statue. Since the statue was about 10 feet away., it was difficult to get the expression accurately. So I got to chose to give it a dorky look, while everyone else gave it a scary look. The actual statue is very colorful. 
Below is a  partial blind contour drawing of my art teacher Heidi Brueckner. This meant keeping my eye on the model (Heidi) and not allowing your pen to leave the paper, with allowances to see where your hand was on the paper.  I especially like how I captured her classic profile, but   she's not that thick..

Drawing something right in front of you gives a more alive, realistic perspective to the drawing.
